An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from A&A Models represents the single-seat light combat and training aircraft BAE Hawk 208 in the rendering of the Royal Malaysian Air Force. Besides the plastic parts the package also contains a photo-etched sheet, masks for the glazing and the wheels, and decals for several color schemes. It is a newer kit of a less usual subject.
The BAE Hawk is a proven jet machine of British origin which spread as an advanced trainer and light combat aircraft. The Hawk 208 version is the single-seat combat variant delivered for the Royal Malaysian Air Force; it serves for advanced training of pilots as well as for light combat tasks such as interception and strikes on ground targets. The machine stands out for its compact dimensions and versatility.
Use thin modeling cement on the plastic. Use the masks supplied for clean glazing of the canopy and for the wheels. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Assemble and paint the external stores and the landing gear bays before you close the airframe. On kits of this kind, count on more careful test-fitting. The color scheme comes out well when sprayed with an airbrush and with fine accentuation of the panels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
