A resin wheels set for Soviet Second World War fighters (Yak, La, LaGG, I-185, MiG-3) in 1:72 scale. It is the variant for field (unpaved) airstrips. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the plastic kit wheels with a more true-to-life casting. It is made by the Ukrainian company Reskit.
A resin wheel tends to be more accurate in shape than a plastic part: it keeps its circular form and has a crisp tire tread and clean rendering of the hub and the wheel disc. The tire is usually cast with a slight flat where it meets the ground, imitating the load of a standing aircraft. Before buying, check the axle diameter and the mounting on your kit.
These are Soviet fighters of the Second World War - the Yak-7/9, La-5/7, LaGG-3, I-185 and MiG-3 - which operated from unpaved, field airstrips.
These are resin castings. Wash the parts in soapy water to remove any mold release residue, separate the wheels from the casting block with a fine saw and sand the face down. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); plastic cement does not hold on resin. When sanding, protect your airways.
The set is supplied as unpainted resin castings. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
