Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German fighter Junkers D.I of the First World War in 1:72 scale from the brand Roden, in the late production version with a lengthened fuselage. The set contains plastic parts with a faithfully reproduced corrugated metal surface, a detailed cockpit and a decal sheet. Thanks to the cantilever wing, which needs no external struts, the model practically does not need rigging - only two wires on the landing gear are stretched, which makes it accessible even to those who are wary of rigging.
The Junkers D.I was a single-seat all-metal fighter low-wing monoplane with characteristic corrugated duralumin skin - one of the first production all-metal fighters in the world. Its cantilever structure without external struts and wires was ahead of its time and pointed the direction that aircraft construction would take in the following decades. It reached service only at the very close of the war, so it saw action only marginally. The late version had a lengthened fuselage for better stability.
Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement and clean up the seams. Finish the cockpit before closing the fuselage. The corrugated surface is brought out after spraying the base with an airbrush and with a fine wash that underlines the texture. Rigging is practically a non-issue on this model - only short wires on the landing gear are stretched.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
