1:72 KV-1

The KV-1 in 1:72 scale

A collector's model of the Soviet KV-1 heavy tank in 1:72 scale. It is a piece for a collection, not an item for the drawer of half-built projects: you buy it so that it stands on a shelf among other vehicles of the same scale.

The real subject

The KV-1 was a Soviet heavy tank named after Kliment Voroshilov. It went into action with armor that ordinary German anti-tank guns could not penetrate in 1941, so single machines were able to hold up a whole advance. That protection was paid for in weight, though. The running gear and the transmission worked at the limit of what they could take, the tank was slow and demanding to operate, and in the following years this proved a weakness that development had to address. The main armament was a 76 mm gun.

Placement and care

• Display the model out of direct sunlight, as both paint and plastic parts fade in the light over time.
• When moving it, hold it by the hull, never by the gun barrel or by small projecting parts.
• Brush the dust off with a soft brush, as a cloth catches on handles and grab irons.
• A glazed display case keeps the model clean and saves you frequent attention.
• The 1:72 scale sits well with other vehicles and with figures in the same scale.

What the delivery contains

The model alone is supplied. A display case, a display base and other items for display are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
