HäT 1:72 Late Roman Cavalry is a large cavalry set: twenty-four riders in four poses.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. The package contains twenty-four riders in four poses and horses in two poses. Against the usual twelve-piece cavalry sets this is double the number, so one box will build a whole cavalry unit. The figures are unpainted and the rider has to be seated in the saddle.
In the late Roman army the importance of the mounted arm rose sharply. Alongside the heavy cataphracts there served lighter cavalry units that carried a lance, a shield and often a bow as well, and they formed the mobile reserve of a commander. The late Roman list of offices records dozens of cavalry formations spread across the whole empire, from Britain to the Euphrates, and their role in the defense of the long frontier was crucial.
Wash the plastic, dry it and spray it with a flexible primer. With twenty-four riders it pays to divide the work: paint the horses in bulk in two shades and finish the riders separately. The round shields are the main area of color, and you can suggest the painted emblems of the units with a simple pattern. Glue the lances on last. Seat the riders in the saddle once the horse is painted, otherwise you cannot reach under the belly.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
