HäT 1:72 Late Roman Missile Troops is a set of thirty-six figures of late Roman missile troops supplemented with light engines.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. The package contains thirty-six figures in nine poses and four light engines to go with them. The set thus covers the missile element of the late Roman army from archers to the crews of torsion weapons. The figures are unpainted and the engines are assembled from individual parts.
The late Roman army placed greater emphasis on missile fire than the army of the early empire. Alongside archers and slingers, light torsion engines were commonly deployed; they could shoot a bolt several hundred paces and were used in the field as well as in sieges. The smaller types were mobile enough to be carried on a wagon and crewed by just two men.
Wash the figures, dry them and spray them with a flexible primer. Assemble the engines dry and only then glue them, because the frames are slender and a badly aligned part cannot be corrected later. Handle the wooden parts with an ocher base and a brown glaze and leave the ropes and torsion skeins lighter. Arrange the missile troops in an irregular line behind the infantry, and the formation gains depth.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
