An injection-molded plastic kit of the German army light cross-country car in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer ACE. The model captures the configuration for a mobile medical team of the airborne units, that is, the version with a different body and equipment from the ordinary signals vehicle. It is a model from a smaller production run, so the parts call for careful dry fitting and a little more work on alignment than mass-produced kits.
The vehicle designated Wolf is the militarized version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class cross-country car. The Bundeswehr introduced it as a light carrier with a payload of about half a ton, which replaced older types and spread into dozens of purpose-built configurations: signals, reconnaissance, ambulance and medical. The abbreviation in the designation refers to the mobile medical team intended for the airborne units, which has to be able to work immediately after landing and without any support facilities.
Dry fit the parts first; on smaller production runs the locating pins cannot be relied on. Use liquid cement for plastic applied into the joint with a small brush. Finish the chassis and the interior before you close the body up. An airbrush with soft transitions suits the three-color camouflage; then bring out the edges with a dry brush and dust the running gear with a light pigment.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
