A detailed plastic kit of the American M109A7 Paladin self-propelled howitzer in 1:72 scale from the maker ForeArt. This is a new tool with rich contents: besides injection-molded plastic it holds a metal barrel, photo-etched parts, a 3D-printed muzzle and a decal sheet. The tracks use the link-and-length technique. Because of the number of fine parts this is a kit rather for more experienced modelers.
The M109A7 is the latest development version of the proven American 155 mm M109 self-propelled howitzer. Compared with the older variants it received a modernized chassis and powerpack shared with the tracked vehicles of the Bradley family, a stronger electrical system and modernized electronics. It serves as tracked artillery support for armored units.
Wash and clean the parts before gluing, and glue the photo-etched and 3D-printed parts in particular with cyanoacrylate glue. Assemble the link-and-length tracks patiently, segment by segment. At the end a primer, a top shade and weathering with washes and pigments come in handy to bring out the details and add dust effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
