A small set in 1:72 scale devoted to the German MG 34 machine gun. It will complete an infantry scene and a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MG 34 was a German machine gun introduced in the 1930s, and in the Second World War it served as the basic automatic weapon of the infantry squads. It was a general-purpose design for the 7.92 mm cartridge: on a bipod it filled the role of a light machine gun right in the skirmish line, and on a tripod with an optical sight the role of a heavy machine gun in a fixed position. The ammunition was fed by belt, alternatively by a drum carrier. The weapon became famous for its high rate of fire and quick barrel change, but it was demanding to produce and to maintain in the field, which led to the later introduction of a simpler design.
This item is a figure-scale set in 1:72, and its subject is precisely this machine gun. The exact composition of the box and the part count are given in the manufacturer's instructions enclosed with the set. At this scale the parts are very small and are best handled with tweezers over a mat with a raised edge, so that a part that jumps away does not fly into the carpet.
Wash and degrease the parts first, or the paint will not hold well on the surface. Apply the paint in thin coats so that the fine shapes do not flood; a heavy coat at this scale will reliably wipe out the detail. A darker glaze run into the recesses will pick out the shadows, and a dry brush will conversely pull out the edges. It is a good idea to try the assembly dry first and only then to join it permanently.
Paints, glue and a diorama base are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
