An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat trainer version of the famous Soviet MiG-15 jet fighter in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The model belongs to the Easy Assembly range with a simplified number of parts and one-piece molded sections of the fuselage, which makes it suitable for less experienced builders as well. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, with a decal sheet and instructions.
The MiG-15UTI (NATO reporting name Midget) was the two-seat trainer variant of the MiG-15 fighter. It came about by adding a second cockpit for the instructor and became one of the most widespread jet trainers of the Eastern Bloc. It served for decades with a number of air forces including the Czechoslovak Air Force, where future pilots of jets were trained on it. The original MiG-15 was a Soviet single-seat first-generation fighter with a swept wing, which made a strong mark in the Korean War.
Separate the parts carefully from the sprues, clean up the molding edges and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Lay down a base primer before painting; metal surfaces come into their own with an airbrush and the shades of aluminum or polished metal. On slim fighters of this type we recommend adding weight in the nose, so that the model does not sit back on its tail. Bring out the engraved lines with a thin wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
