A richly detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Mil Mi-24 attack helicopter, Hind E in the NATO reporting system, in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. The kit has a large number of parts, finely rendered engines, clear cockpit glazing and crew figures. It makes it possible to build two related versions: the Mi-24V armed with a movable machine gun in the nose, or the Mi-24VP with a fixed twin-barrel cannon. The decals offer several marking options.
The Mil Mi-24 (Hind) is a Soviet twin-engined attack helicopter that joins firepower with the ability to carry a small group of troops. The Mi-24V version is among the most widespread; it carries anti-tank guided missiles, rocket pods and further stores on its short stub wings. Typical features are the stepped tandem cockpit (the gunner in front, the pilot higher up behind him), the five-blade main rotor and the tail rotor. The machine proved itself in many conflicts from the nineteen eighties onward.
Decide in advance between the V and the VP version; they differ in the nose and the armament. Finish the engines and the cockpit before you close the fuselage up. Use liquid cement on the plastic and mask the glazing. Lay down a primer before painting; Soviet camouflage suits an airbrush, and the panel lines are brought out with a wash. Glue the fine rotor blades and the stores precisely; paint the stores separately and fit them last of all.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
