This Reskit accessory set offers Mk.83 bombs with the BSU-35 tail unit and a protective thermal layer. The number of four pieces comes from the name of the item. The individual pieces are fitted under the wing or the fuselage of a model that is already finished.
BSU is the abbreviation for the stabilizing tail unit of a bomb. It is this that decides how the bomb behaves once it separates from the aircraft, and at the same time it changes its silhouette the most. The manufacturer therefore issues the same bomb in several versions that differ only in the tail. The number after the abbreviation then designates the particular type of unit, so that two sets cannot be confused.
In a small scale the bombs from a plastic box tend to be simplified, with thick fins and a visible parting line. Replacement parts help above all where an aircraft carries several pieces at once and where the coarseness would repeat on every mounting. The thermally protected variant moreover gives the surface a different grain, which is good to work with when painting.
Because of the size of the parts, tweezers and glue applied with the tip of a wire come in handy. The lettering on the casing can be managed with a dry transfer or a fine brush; above all, apply the paint in thin coats.
