HäT 1:72 Napoleonic Early-Mid French Marching is a set of twenty-four marching French infantrymen.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from the HäT brand. The box contains twenty-four figures in six marching poses. The equipment matches the early to middle period of the Napoleonic wars, that is the time before the later changes to the uniform. The figures are unpainted and cast in one piece, so all they need is separating from the sprue and setting on bases.
The French army was famous for the speed of its marching. Corps moved separately and only joined up on the battlefield, which made it harder for an opponent to judge where the decision would fall. The soldiers covered daily distances that the armies of the day considered impossible, and the pace of these movements was one of the reasons for French victories in the first years of the Empire.
Wash the figures, dry them and spray them with a flexible primer. A marching column looks best with regular spacing but with the figures turned slightly, so that they do not read as castings from one mold. Keep the blue coat on the darker side and lighten the edges, and treat the white breeches as light gray. Dust on the boots and the lower hem of the breeches gives the column credibility.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
