HäT 1:72 Napoleonic French in Greatcoats is a set of twenty figures of French infantry in greatcoats, in three poses.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. The package contains twenty figures in three poses. The number of poses is lower than in the ordinary foot sets, because the set is built as a complement for filling out the ranks, not as a unit on its own. One of the poses holds the musket with the butt resting against the left shoulder, that is, at the march. The figures are unpainted.
The greatcoat was the most valuable piece of equipment a soldier of the Napoleonic wars had. It was worn in the cold and in the rain, and on the march the kit was rolled up in it. On campaign it often happened that a whole battalion looked more uniform in greatcoats than in the prescribed uniform, because greatcoats stood up to wear better. That is exactly why figures in greatcoats are so rewarding for winter and autumn scenes.
Wash the figures, dry them and spray them with a flexible primer. Paint the greatcoat in muted beiges, grays and browns and vary the shades between the figures; the cloth of the period was not uniform. Three poses is too few for a unit on its own, so mix the figures in among ranks from other sets. A winter base dusted with snow will place the formation in a particular season at once.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
