HäT 1:72 Napoleonic Naval Cannon and Crew is a set of eight naval cannon in two versions and thirty-two crew figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set in 1:72 scale from HäT. The box holds eight naval cannon in two different versions and thirty-two crew figures in four poses, that is four men to a gun. The figures are modeled the way a crew really worked on deck: stripped to the waist, barefoot, in wide trousers and with a scarf tied round the head. The plastic is unpainted.
Working a naval gun in the age of sail was hard physical labor in the noise and smoke of a closed gun deck. Serving the weapon properly took more men than the set offers to a gun, because after each shot the gun had to be hauled back into the port with ropes and a block and tackle. Crews therefore drilled loading speed as their main fighting skill.
Dry-fit the parts, above all the seating of the carriage on the deck planking. Paint the wood of the carriage in a warm brown tone and leave the gun barrel dark metal. The bare skin of the crew needs more work than a uniform, so underpaint it and add a glaze. If you are building a gun deck diorama, do not forget the ropes and blocks; without them the scene does not convince.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
