An injection-molded short-run kit of the North American FJ-1 Fury carrier jet fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Valom. The kit usually comes with resin and photo-etched parts and is intended rather for more experienced modelers who are used to short-run kits. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the exact contents of the box are given in the enclosed instructions.
The FJ-1 Fury was one of the first operational jet fighters of the US Navy. It was a single-seat machine with a straight wing and a jet engine with the air intake in the nose of the fuselage, from the end of the 1940s. Although it was soon replaced by more modern swept-wing types, it was an important step in the transition of carrier aviation to jet power and it became the forerunner of the later Fury family.
On a short-run kit, count on cleaning off the flash and test fitting the parts dry; the joints may call for filling and sanding. Glue the resin and photo-etched parts with super glue. Paint and fit the cockpit before you close up the fuselage. The glossy naval finish comes out well over a smoothly sanded base and a gloss clear coat under the decals; spray the unified surface with an airbrush over a primer.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
