This product is a wet (water-activated) decal sheet in 1:72 scale with markings for the North American P-51B and P-51C Mustang fighter. It is not a kit or an accessory part but a set of decals that you transfer onto the surface of a model already built and painted. The decals are printed on a thin carrier film with careful color registration and crisp outlines.

The real subject

The P-51B and P-51C were early versions of the famous Mustang with the birdcage type glazed canopy and a license-built Rolls-Royce Merlin engine (the Packard V-1650). It was exactly these machines that gave the Mustang the long range and high-altitude performance thanks to which they escorted bombers deep over Europe.

Use

• Cut the decal out, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let the film soften.
• Move it onto a gloss varnish ground, position it and blot the excess water away gently.
• For a perfect fit to engraved lines use a decal softener, then coat it with matte or semi-gloss varnish.
