An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Panther medium tank in the Ausf.D version, in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. It is a model from the snap-fit range, where the parts click together without any need for glue, although the joints can still be glued for greater strength. Thanks to the lower parts count the set builds quickly and suits beginning modelers as well.
The Panther was one of the best known German tanks of the Second World War. It combined a powerful gun of 75 mm caliber, sloped armor and good mobility. The Ausf.D version was the first production variant; fewer than seven hundred were built and many of them carried Zimmerit anti-magnetic mine paste.
Even on a snap-fit model it pays to secure the joints with a drop of glue and to clean up the seams. The small scale invites fine work: paint with an airbrush, bring out the panel lines with a thin wash and weather the running gear with dust and mud. Consider imitating the Zimmerit that is typical of this version.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
