HäT 1:72 Punic War Roman Command is a set of thirty-two command figures and one hundred eight parts, riders included.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from HäT. The box holds one hundred eight parts: twenty-four foot figures, eight riders and, with them, sixty-eight separate accessories, that is shields, weapons and standards. The number of separate parts lets you put commanders, standard bearers and trumpeters together as you see fit. The plastic is unpainted.
The command of a republican legion was made up of tribunes, centurions and junior officers, together with the bearers of the standards and the trumpeters. The standard of a maniple served as a point of reference in the formation, and its loss counted as a disgrace that had to be put right. Trumpet signals directed movement and the relief of the lines, because in the noise of battle a commander's voice was not enough.
Wash the figures, dry them and spray them with a flexible primer. Sort the separate accessories out in advance and decide who will carry which standard. Paint the standards metallic and then add colored ribbons; they will show most in the formation. The commander figure is worth more time than the rank and file, as it is the focus of the whole formation.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
