Zvezda 1:72 Roman legionaries is a set of historical plastic figures of the infantry of imperial Rome.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of unglued plastic figures in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. The package contains approximately 53 foot figures in roughly 13 poses, some of them adapted for building the close shield formation (testudo). The figures are intended to be assembled and painted.
The legionaries were the heavy infantry of the Roman army in the period of the empire, roughly from the 1st century BC to the 2nd century AD. They wore segmented armor and a helmet, carried a large curved shield (scutum) and fought with a short sword (gladius) and a throwing spear (pilum). The close testudo formation protected the soldiers against missiles while advancing or during a siege.
Separate the parts from the sprue and glue them with cement for plastic or super glue. Apply a base coat, paint with a brush or an airbrush and bring out the metal parts of the armor with a metallic finish and a dark wash. The designs on the shields can be added by hand or with a decal.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
