The 1:72 metal 152.4 mm M-10S barrel for the KV-II is a precisely turned metal replacement for the plastic barrel from Aber. It is not a model but a refining accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal barrel from Aber in 1:72 scale, intended as a replacement for the plastic barrel on models of the KV-II heavy tank. This is not a vehicle kit but an accurate refining accessory. The massive large-caliber barrel looks markedly more faithful in metal and has a perfectly round cross-section.
The KV-II was a Soviet heavy tank of the beginning of the Second World War, marked by its tall slab-sided turret. It carried the 152.4mm M-10S howitzer derived from the M-10 field howitzer, intended above all to destroy fortifications and heavy targets. Because of the weight and size of the turret the KV-II was among the most conspicuous vehicles of its day.
Cut off the plastic barrel and clean up the seat, then glue the metal part in with super glue (cyanoacrylate). On large-caliber barrels the metal version is also an advantage because of its weight, which helps to balance a heavy turret. Degrease the brass before painting and go over it with a primer.
This is a refining accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
