Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. The package contains forty parts from which you assemble thirty-two figures in eight poses on four sprues. The figures are unpainted. The set represents the ordinary infantry of the Sassanid empire and complements the Sassanid cavalry, cataphracts and elephants from the same maker.
The Sassanid empire built its military strength on armored cavalry, and the infantry played a supporting role in it. The levied foot soldiers came from the rural population, were only lightly armed, and their task was to hold the line, to occupy ground and to protect the camp. Roman authors judged them unflatteringly, but in siege warfare and in the defense of fortresses they did a great deal of work.
Wash the figures, dry them and spray them with a flexible primer. Paint the clothing in muted natural tones and save strong color for the cavalry sets; the contrast between the elite and the levies will then stand out in the formation. Suggest the wicker shields with a brown glaze over ocher. Glue the spears on only after painting. Set the formation up in a close line; it matches the role of these units.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
