HäT 1:72 Seven Years War Austrians Marching is a set of forty-eight marching Austrian infantrymen.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. The package contains forty-eight figures in three poses. The low number of poses is deliberate in a marching set: a closed column looks best when the figures are uniform, and repetition in a rank is not a distraction. The figures are unpainted. Combat and command poses follow in the same line.
The Austrian infantry of the Seven Years' War was the main opponent of the Prussian troops of Frederick the Great. The white coat with colored facings according to regiment is unmistakable, and it served them well into the Napoleonic period. After the first defeats the army went through a reform, gained better artillery and training, and at Kolin in 1757 dealt the Prussians their first great defeat in the field.
Wash the figures, dry them and spray them with a flexible primer. Do not paint the white coat in pure white, but in a light gray with a bright white highlight on the raised places, or the figure will lose its shadow. Choose the colored facings according to regiment and keep them uniform throughout the column. A marching formation looks best with an even spacing and the figures lined up in rank.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
