Aber 76.2mm L-11 for the T-34/76 model 1940, 1:72 is an accurate turned metal barrel that replaces the plastic part from a boxed kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a tank kit but an accurate accessory: a turned metal barrel in 1:72 scale that replaces the plastic barrel from a boxed kit. The manufacturer Aber of Poland focuses on metal and photo-etched parts for modelers. The metal barrel is perfectly straight, has a faithful muzzle profile and removes the parting seams as well as the slight bowing typical of an injection-molded part.
The 76.2 mm L-11 gun was the original armament of the earliest production T-34 tanks of 1940. It was marked by the characteristic cylindrical housing of the recoil gear above the barrel. Later it was replaced by the longer and more effective F-34 gun, so the L-11 barrel is the recognition feature of the early model 1940 variant.
Cut off the plastic barrel and clean up the seat, adjusting the seating surface to the diameter of the metal part. Glue the metal with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the surface before painting and apply a primer suitable for metal, otherwise the paint holds poorly. Fill and sand down any step between the metal and the plastic.
The accessory does not include the model, the glue or the paints; it serves to modify a kit bought separately.
