An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat Supermarine Spitfire Tr.9 trainer version in 1:72 scale from AZ model. The Supermarine Spitfire is one of the best-known fighters in history. The two-seat Tr.9 trainer version was created by converting the single-seat Spitfire Mk.IX - a second, higher-set cockpit for the instructor with separate glazing was built in behind the original cockpit. The aircraft was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin V12. Two-seat trainer Spitfires served after the Second World War and a number of them have survived as flying veterans that still appear at air shows in striking color schemes.
This is a short-run kit - check the fit of the parts before gluing, clean up the sprue attachments and any flash and confirm by dry assembly that the fuselage and the cockpits meet properly. Glue with liquid modeling cement for plastic, paint and shade the interior of both cockpits before closing the fuselage, and mask the clear glazing while spraying. Apply primer and the colors with an airbrush, and apply the decals after a gloss clear coat. Display aircraft tend to be glossily and cleanly finished - keep the weathering restrained.
