Replacement wheels with underinflated tires for the Soviet three-axle GAZ-AAA truck in 1:72 scale, seven parts in all.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Soviet truck with three axles came about by lengthening a lighter two-axle predecessor and became one of the workhorses of the Red Army. It carried ammunition and fuel, it served as the chassis of armored cars and as a carrier for a rocket launcher, and it proved itself off the road thanks precisely to the pair of driven rear axles. In period photographs its tires are almost always visibly not fully inflated, because in mud and sand people preferred to drive softer.
The package contains two front wheels, four rear wheel assemblies and one spare, that is, seven parts. The rear wheels are done as dual wheels, which is a characteristic feature of this machine that anyone who knows the truck will notice. All the tires have flattening suggested where they touch the ground.
A flattened contact patch is the simplest way to give a model weight. As long as a vehicle stands on perfectly round wheels, it looks slightly like a toy. When gluing, make sure the flat facet lies horizontally on the surface and the same on all the wheels, or the truck will optically limp. Glue the axles up on a flat board, then, and let them dry under a weight. Bring the tread pattern out with a dry brush and add dust to the underside. Before you reach for glue, compare the shape of the tire with the parts from the box: with this class of vehicle the difference in diameter tends to be small, but it sets the bed a good bit higher or lower than expected. A dry test fit will save you that surprise.
