An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX fighter in 1:72 scale from Italeri. The model is supplied as a set of parts to be assembled and painted and it is a good choice both for a quicker build and for collectors of Second World War aircraft.
The Spitfire Mk.IX was one of the most successful versions of the legendary British fighter. It came about as an answer to the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190 and combined the proven Spitfire airframe with the powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin 60 series engine. The Mk.IX restored the advantage in altitude and speed and became one of the most widespread Royal Air Force fighters of the second half of the war.
Finish the cockpit before you close the fuselage. Use thin cement on the plastic and sand the seams down once they have dried. Before applying the decals, spray the matte camouflage colors with a gloss clear coat for a clean transition, and unify the surface with a matte clear coat at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
