Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from the brand HäT. The package contains fifteen figures and twelve camels: twelve riders in three poses, three on foot in one pose and the camels in two poses. The figures are unpainted and the rider has to be seated. The set belongs to the Sudanese branch of the line and is set against the British colonial units from the same maker.
In the Sudan of the late nineteenth century camel-mounted troops were the natural choice: in the desert a camel moved where a horse failed, and it lasted considerably longer without water. Mahdist units on camels moved quickly over great distances, but they usually dismounted to fight. The British answer lay in forming a camel corps of their own, so that both sides used the same means of transport.
Wash the plastic, dry it and spray it with a flexible primer. Handle the coat of the camels with a light fawn base, a brown glaze and a dry brush along the back. Do not paint the white clothing in pure white but in a light gray; patches and colored appliques belong to the typical look of Mahdist fighters. A base with sand and sparse grass will place the formation in a desert scene at once.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
