About product

Quinta Studio 1:72 Tornado Gr.1 cockpit interior (3D decal, small version with resin parts)

This is a colored 3D-printed cockpit interior for the British Panavia Tornado Gr.1 combat aircraft in 1:72 scale, in the small version rounded out with 3D-printed resin parts. It is a colored three-dimensional interior printed on decal paper. It is not a model of the aircraft but a detail accessory that replaces the flat or simplified cockpit features of the basic kit. This is the smaller (simplified) version of the set, aimed at the key features of the cockpit and rounded out with several 3D-printed resin parts for more three-dimensional detail. The set contains colored decal elements for the instrument panel and the side consoles as well as those resin components. The decals are shaped for the parts of the Italeri kit.

The real subject

The Panavia Tornado GR.1 was a British two-seat combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, intended above all for attacking ground targets in all weather and at low level. It served with the Royal Air Force and saw combat as well.

Usage tips

Cut the elements out, dip them in lukewarm water for about 15 seconds and slide them off the backing paper onto their place in the cockpit. They have no adhesive layer of their own and hold on gloss clear (Future/Klear, Tamiya X-22), which is why a matte base is a mistake. Do not use a decal softener; its chemistry attacks the printed resin and ruins the element. In awkward places a drop of super glue and patient work with tweezers will help. Painting the instruments is usually unnecessary, because the panel is already printed convincingly.

Who the set is for

  • For modelers who want a convincing cockpit without lengthy painting
  • For builders in 1:72 scale looking for three-dimensional interior detail
  • For advanced and moderately experienced modelers used to working with decals

This is an add-on decal set, not a standalone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.

FAQ

It is a smaller, simplified scope of set aimed at the main features of the cockpit. Here it is additionally rounded out with 3D-printed resin parts for more three-dimensional detail.

No, it is an add-on cockpit interior set (decals and resin parts) for a Tornado Gr.1 kit. You need to have the model itself.

The resin parts are best glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The colored decal elements are dipped in lukewarm water for about 15 seconds and slid off the backing paper onto gloss clear; do not use a decal softener on them, as it attacks the printed resin.

It is intended for the Italeri kit.
