U-boot IXC – crew at rest in quarters (3 figures, 1:72) is a resin set of three figures for depicting the interior of a Type IXC submarine.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of three resin figures in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker CMK. This is not a submarine model but an interior accessory intended to bring the inside of a model of a Type IXC submarine to life. The figures capture sailors at rest in the cramped quarters, the way they spent their free time between watches.
Type IXC submarines were large ocean-going boats of the Kriegsmarine with a long range. The crew lived in extremely cramped conditions and bunks were often shared. A scene of rest in the quarters therefore captures everyday life on board well and suits cutaway or open interior dioramas.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut away the casting blocks and fit the heads. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, and do any sanding with respiratory protection. Inside a submarine, subdued lighting of the scene works well, along with matte shades of clothing and restrained highlighting of the details.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
