The Willys Jeep was a light all-wheel-drive cross-country car with a quarter-ton payload, and in the Second World War it became the universal helper of the US Army. It ran as a liaison car, a car for commanders and for reconnaissance, it carried the wounded away, it towed light weapons and it moved materiel where an ordinary truck could not get through. You recognize it by its folding windshield, its open body with no fixed doors, the spare wheel at the rear and the jerrycan on the side. Besides Willys-Overland it was also built in a practically identical form by Ford, and through supplies to the Allies it reached every battlefield.
This is a plastic kit in 1:72 scale. The finished car measures just under five centimeters, so it suits dioramas with vehicles and also works to enliven an airfield scene beside aircraft models. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Cut the parts off with a sharp blade, clean them up and glue them with cement for plastic. In this scale the car is tiny, so it pays to work with tweezers and to apply the glue drop by drop so that it does not flood the detail. Wash and degrease the model before painting. The wheels and the underside of the car deserve especially careful dusting, because it is the dirtying of the chassis that makes a small model convincing.
Paints, glue and thinner are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
