Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale with twenty-four figures of the Belgian army of the First World War and with support weapon accessories. It supplements the infantry set of the same army with the crews it lacks. It is supplied unpainted and unassembled.
Belgium entered the war in August 1914 as the first country to be invaded, and in the first weeks its small army played a part the German plan had not reckoned with: it delayed the advance enough for the Allies to regroup. After the retreat behind the Yser the Belgian army held a narrow strip of its own territory until the end of the war. The uniforms went through a marked change during the war from dark prewar colors to practical khaki and the steel helmet. Machine gun detachments were vital to the defense of the trenches, because an army weak in numbers had to make up for the people it lacked with firepower.
The weapons have small parts, so have tweezers ready and work over a surface. Arrange the crews around the weapon in natural roles and unify them with a single uniform shade; leave the differences to the equipment. Darken the metal parts and polish only the edge gently. A common tone on the bases bonds the group into one whole.
The figures are supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
