HäT 1:72 WWI Belgian Infantry is a set of thirty-two Belgian infantry figures in two kinds of equipment.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from HäT. The box holds thirty-two figures. What makes the set unusual is that it covers two different kinds of equipment: line infantry in a cap and members of the civic guard in a broad-brimmed hat. The poses take in marching, fighting and holding a position. The figures are unpainted.
In August 1914 Belgium lay in the path of the German advance, and its small army put up a resistance at Liege and Antwerp that the attacker had not counted on. Alongside the regular infantry the civic guard went into action as well, a volunteer corps with equipment of its own. After the withdrawal behind the Yser the Belgian army held a narrow strip of its own territory until the end of the war.
Wash the figures, dry them and spray them with a flexible primer. Sort the two kinds of equipment out in advance so that they do not get mixed: the line infantry sits in dark blue with a prominent cap, the civic guard in dark clothing with a hat. The different silhouette of the two groups shows in a formation even at a distance, so it is worth keeping them apart. Leave the equipment and the straps brown.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
