HäT 8109 German artillery of the First World War is a 1:72 set with four field guns, four limbers and forty-eight crew figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
This extensive HäT artillery set in 1:72 scale contains eighty-eight parts in all. In it there are four 7.7 cm field guns of the model 16, four ammunition limbers and forty-eight figures of crews, officers and NCOs in ten poses. The limbers have hinged doors, so the ammunition under the seat can either be shown or hidden.
The 7.7 cm field gun was the backbone of German divisional artillery, and the model 16 was its late, longer and longer-ranged form, which answered the experience of trench warfare. The batteries were moved by horse teams and the limber with the ammunition rode between the team and the gun carriage; only once it was unhitched was the gun deployed into a firing position. The crew was divided into loaders, layers and ammunition handlers, and it is exactly these roles that the figures in the set capture.
The carriages and the wheels have fine spokes, so separate them with a sharp knife and rather a little at a time. Assemble the limbers before you start painting, so that you have access to the inside of the ammunition box. The crews look best arranged around the gun in natural roles; unify them with a single shade of uniform and leave the color differences for the facings and the straps.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
