A set of unpainted figures of American infantry from the First World War in 1:72 scale. The figures of this line are in soft plastic, on which ordinary cement for polystyrene will not hold and neither will paint without preparation. That is not a fault but a property of the material. The set suits trench dioramas as well as a tabletop game, because in 1:72 scale a whole stretch of front can be laid out on a tabletop.
The American units reached the Western Front in 1917 and their main contribution was numbers: at a time when the European armies were exhausted, they brought fresh strength. The soldiers wore a helmet of British pattern and a brownish uniform, along with a rifle and equipment of their own. The helmet is exactly why an American soldier of that time resembles a British one at first glance and differs mainly in details of the equipment.
Wash the figures first in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry completely. Then apply a primer intended for soft plastics. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Vary the shade of the uniform slightly between the soldiers and add mud to the boots and the hem of the trousers; without it a trench scene does not look convincing.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
