The Yakovlev Yak-30 Magnum in 1:72 scale (Amodel) is a plastic kit of the Soviet jet trainer.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian brand Amodel depicts the Soviet Yakovlev Yak-30 jet trainer, known in the West by the reporting name Magnum. The box holds plastic sprues, a clear canopy and a decal sheet. It is a short-run kit, so expect to have to clean the parts up carefully.
The Yak-30 came about at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s as the Soviet proposal for a common jet trainer for the Warsaw Pact countries. Although it did not win the competition and only a few prototypes were built, it is among the interesting and little-known machines of its day. It first flew in 1960.
Clean up the short-run parts with a file and keep checking the fit as you go. Mask the canopy glazing and finish the interior before closing the fuselage. Spray the primer with an airbrush and lay the decals onto a gloss coat. The smooth surfaces of the fuselage come into their own after light sanding and polishing before painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
