An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet T-34 medium tank in 1:76 scale from the Vintage Classics range by Airfix. The kit comes from a classic mold of the late 1960s, so it has the breakdown of its day and simpler detail; the finished model is some 95 mm long and suits beginners and collectors of nostalgic Airfix alike.
The T-34 is often held to be the most effective tank design of the Second World War. It combined a powerful gun, well-sloped armor, the mobility of wide tracks and a simplicity of construction suited to mass production. It was precisely that reliability and the ability to build it in large numbers that made it the key weapon of the Red Army on the Eastern Front.
Use a thin glue for plastic and clean up the mold seams of the older mold. Over a primer base, lay Soviet green on with an airbrush, 4BO for example. Bring the running gear and the tracks out with a dark wash and dust pigments; a winter whitewash is typical as well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
