This is a modeling publication from the series of drawing monographs by Kagero, not a kit. The book brings a set of technical drawings of the English Electric Lightning worked up to help modelers check the correct shapes, proportions and details of the real subject. The plans are printed in the popular modeling scales 1:72, 1:48 and 1:32, so they can be used for building and modifying models of various sizes. The English Electric Lightning was a British supersonic interceptor of the Cold War era, in service with the Royal Air Force. Its unusual arrangement of two Rolls-Royce Avon engines mounted one above the other in the fuselage was characteristic, as was its extreme rate of climb, which made it one of the fastest-climbing fighters of its day. It served to protect British airspace and for escort duties.
