Replacement Filters for an Airbrush Spray Booth (Green Stuff World), 2 pcs

This is a consumable replacement part, not a kit. The package contains two filters for the extraction booth (spray booth) used when spraying with an airbrush. The filter is made of a polyester mat and its job is to catch the paint mist, the atomized droplets of paint and thinner that miss the model and would otherwise end up in the room and in your lungs. The maker states a filtration class of 5 µm, a weight of 180 g/m² and a size of 385 x 180 mm at a thickness of 20 mm. It is a compromise between retention and airflow: the filter has to catch the pigment but must not take the fan's breath away.

Why change the filter

• A clogged filter means weak extraction. As the fibers fill up with paint, the resistance of the air rises, the fan pushes less air through and the paint mist returns into the room instead of going into the booth.
• Protection of the fan. Without a working filter, pigment and thinner settle straight onto the blades and in the motor, and the booth then gets noisy, loses power and can fail.
• Cleaner work. Less mist flying about means less dust and fewer dry particles settling on fresh varnish and spoiling the surface.
• Safety and health. The filter is part of a system that carries the paint aerosol away from your face. A filter that does not work cancels that protection.
• When to change it: as soon as the mat is visibly saturated with paint, has gone hard, or when the draw of the booth drops noticeably.

Who they are for

For anyone who sprays with an airbrush in an extraction booth - modelers, figure painters and creators of dioramas. Before buying, check the size of the filter in your booth: the filters are intended primarily for Green Stuff World extraction booths, and in booths of other brands they may or may not fit. The safest thing is to measure the existing filter and compare it with the size given.

A used filter contains residues of paints and thinners, is flammable and should be disposed of according to local rules for handling waste, not in the ordinary household bin. The filter by itself is no substitute for a respirator or for ventilating the room; when spraying solvent-based paints, use protective equipment and ventilate.
