The PAG-14 airfield plates 1:48 are 3D printed resin replicas of Soviet PAG-14 airfield plates in 1:48 scale for building a diorama surface.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains 3D printed resin replicas of PAG-14 airfield plates in 1:48 scale, from which the surface of a diorama is laid. The manufacturer aims them at modelers who want the exact geometry of the plates. The surface carries a diamond pattern with the depth as well as the width of the grooves around a tenth of a millimeter, a detail an injection mold does not render.
The PAG-14 are Soviet metal airfield plates, from which taxiways, aprons and whole temporary runways were laid. Their surface has the characteristic diamond anti-slip pattern and the plates interlock with latches along their edges. They were used at field airstrips and also to surface areas at permanent bases. For modelers they are a rewarding base, because by themselves they give away where the scene takes place.
First wash the 3D printed parts in warm water with a little dish soap, so that they are rid of the residue of printing resin. Cut the supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as possible and sand the marks down with your airways protected. Resin does not bond with cement for polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Lay a thin coat of primer on before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on a smooth print. Equipment beside an aircraft comes out best with weathering: a dark wash into the gaps, dust with dry pigment and scuffed spots suggested with a metallic shade.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
