Small elements on a bird theme from the AK Basing Bits line, intended to round out figure bases, city scenes and dioramas. A model and paints are not included.

Birds are an easy trick for giving a scene a story. A silhouette on the edge of a roof, on a railing or on a tree stump says either that nothing is happening in the diorama and the calm is real, or, on the contrary, that something has just startled a flock. At the same time they give the scene scale and fill an empty place where one more figure would already be too much.
A set from the AK Basing Bits line by AK interactive with elements in the shape of birds, ready to round out bases, vignettes and dioramas. The parts are very small, so work over a mat and put them down in a dish so that they do not get lost.
Place them where the outline is visible against the background: on edges, ledges, posts and branches. On the ground an irregular little group looks natural, not a row at equal spacing. Use super glue to fix them, and with a bird on a thin edge a short wire pin sunk into the surface helps. Before painting, wash the elements, degrease them and prime them. Start painting them with a dark base, brighten them with a dry brush along the back and the wings and leave the beak and the legs in a contrasting color. Keep to a muted palette; over-lightened plumage in a small scale looks like a toy.
For builders of city and rural dioramas, vignettes and figure bases who want to bring a scene to life without another figure. A model, a figure, a base, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
