A round synthetic brush from the range intended for applying the traces of wear. The Large size covers larger parts on which work is done with pigment, a thin glaze application or a stippled abrasion of the paint.
Responsibility details are not available.
The weathering range is not meant to serve for painting colored areas but for what comes after them. The round hair takes up pigment dry, pushes it into the corners and manages equally well the stippled application with which rubbed places of paint are made. The Large size is the most voluminous of the round three and works best on undersides, fenders and bases.
Work with pigments is mechanically demanding on the hair, because the powder acts as a fine abrasive. Synthetics stand up to that better than soft natural hair and will take even the hair being repeatedly driven into a surface. The yield still cannot be expressed in a number of models, because one dusty tank uses up more work than three clean figures.
Beside military and civilian vehicles the same procedure is applied on game figures, on dioramas, on enlarged models and also on artistic projects where a new surface is to pass itself off as old. Outside modeling, round hair of this size suits spreading dry pastels as well. When alternating light and dark powder, though, it is useful to have a second piece at hand, because light shades leave the hair very slowly.
The pigment has to be flushed out before the binder settles in it. After work a short bath in lukewarm water helps, and wiping into light paper, on which it is immediately visible whether it is still releasing anything. Dry and not squeezed, the hair will stay usable for a very long time.
