A sheet of decals with solid white lines for road and surface markings on a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
Surface markings are a small thing on a diorama that the eye notices at once. Painting a straight line of even width with a brush over asphalt made of putty or plaster is hard, though: the surface is rough, the paint bleeds and masking tape holds badly on it. A sheet with preprinted solid white lines gets round that problem. The lines are printed straight and at a constant width, so all you do is measure off the length you need, place them and let them dry.
Most often on a road and on a parking area: shoulder lines, dividing lines, marked bays and guide lines at stops. White is the basic color of surface markings, so the sheet also suits the floors of halls and workshops, where lines mark out an aisle or a workstation, and hardstands beside hangars. Because they are straight strips, they can be cut into shorter sections and assembled into a broken line as well.
The surface should be smooth, clean and coated with gloss clear, otherwise a silvery haze will appear under the film. Cut off only the section you need, dip it briefly in lukewarm water and let it rest until the film starts to release from the paper. Slide the strip into place, straighten it with a brush and blot the surplus water away. On a rougher surface a softener helps, pulling the film down into the irregularities. Finally spray the area with matte clear so that the glossy film blends into its surroundings.
The decal sheet is supplied on its own. The base, paints, clear coats and softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
