Landscape Texture Moss Green in a 0.5 to 2 mm grain size is a loose scenic granulate in a subdued shade of moss. The grade is fine enough to drop into the joints between cobblestones and at the same time pronounced enough to hold a shadow of its own on the high spots. It works best where you want to tell the viewer that nobody has looked after the place for years: the foot of a stone wall, the edge of a dirt track, the hollow under a fallen trunk.

A procedure that has proved itself

First coat the surface with PVA glue thinned with water, pour the granulate on from a height of a few centimeters and tap the surplus off once it is dry. Build the layers up gradually, because two thin ones give a more believable result than one heavy one. The shade can still be shifted after fixing: a glaze deepens the green, while light drybrushing with an ocher color dries it out into late summer.

• Darken the base beforehand so that the bare material of the groundwork does not show through the gaps.
• Mixing with a coarser and a finer grade is welcome, as the transition then does not look artificial.
• Collect the unused grain from the work surface and return it to the container.
• Finally fix the finished surface with thinned glue or with the fixing product from the same line.

Its use is not tied to one genre; it suits military vehicles as well as a civilian scene. In small scales pour it more thinly so that the grain does not outgrow the surrounding buildings and figures.
