About product

Aber etched perforated plate 0.9 mm

This is a versatile photo-etched accessory, not a kit. Aber (the Polish maker of photo-etched parts) supplies a thin brass sheet with regularly spaced circular holes 0.9 mm in diameter. It is a solid plate with an etched pattern of holes, not a woven mesh.

What the plate is for

A perforated plate is used wherever the real subject has sheet metal with regular holes: perforated panels, covers, anti-slip surfaces, filter plates and ventilation grilles. The medium hole size of 0.9 mm gives a clearly visible pattern. The material is thin, holds its shape and cuts easily to size.

Usage tips

Cut the part out with sharp photo-etch scissors or break it off the fret, and degrease the surface beforehand. Glue the plate with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with a two-part adhesive; apply a primer for metal before painting.

Who it is for

  • modelers who want accurate perforated sheet instead of smooth plastic
  • for models of military vehicles, ships and aircraft in various scales
  • for superdetailing panels and covers

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other materials are not included in the package.

FAQ

It is a versatile photo-etched accessory (a perforated brass plate), not a kit. It serves for detailing other models.

A mesh is a woven grid with open apertures; a perforated plate is solid sheet with regular etched holes.

Super glue (cyanoacrylate) works best, or a two-part adhesive on a degreased surface.
