Freedom Blue (Semi-Gloss) - a Gunze paint for Gundam kits

This is a single bottle of modeling paint from the range that the Japanese brand Gunze prepared directly for painting Gundam robot kits. It is not a kit and not an accessory to one but a paint in a single color. The name of the color refers to the blue from the color scheme of the Freedom mobile suit, so you reach for a ready tone and do not have to mix it from several paints. The addition Semi-Gloss describes the resulting surface: once dry it is semi-gloss, that is somewhere between matte and gloss.

The binder - read this before you reach for a thinner

The color belongs to the Mr.Color system, which is a lacquer system based on organic solvents. Although paints of this kind are commonly called acrylic, chemically this is not a water-thinnable acrylic. So settle the thinner, the brush cleaner and any mixing within the same system and according to the manufacturer's instructions, and do not combine them with the acrylics of other ranges. Lacquer paints have an intense smell - work in a well ventilated space and protect your airways.

Use

• Painting the parts of robot kits with a brush and with an airbrush.
• A semi-gloss surface on which subsequent decals and a top varnish hold well.
• Stir the color thoroughly before use; the pigment settles to the bottom.
• Apply in thin layers; the coverage is built up gradually.
• Touching up the parts of kits made of colored plastic.
