Mr. Almighty Clip 20 mm - a part holder for painting (Gunze / Mr. Hobby)

A clip for holding a part firmly while it is painted and dried. The jaws open to a width of 20 mm and hold the part on a metal stem, by which you take hold of the model, turn it and set it down. It comes in a larger package, so you can paint several parts at once.

Why you need a clip

A freshly painted part must not be taken hold of with the fingers, because fingerprints, grease and above all smeared paint are left behind. With a clip you take hold of the part by the stem, spray it from every side and leave it to dry in the clip without ever touching the painted surface. Without a clip you either paint one half at a time, with one side drying on the table and sticking to it, or juggle the part in your hand and print the paint onto your fingers. The clip solves that problem.

Use and tips

• The wide 20 mm jaws hold smaller to medium parts: bodies, covers, panels and the parts of snap-fit kits by a flat lug.
• It pays to have several clips, so that you paint more parts in one round.
• The metal stems can be stuck into a stand or a base, so that the parts dry neatly side by side.
• Degrease the part before painting and take hold of it so that the small mark left by the jaws falls in a less visible place.
