Mr. Mini Disposable Flat File with 220 grit is a small flat sanding file of the Japanese brand Gunze for finishing work on plastic parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
It is a hand sanding tool for the build, not a part of a model. The flat shape holds a plane, so it suits where a round tool would hollow out a depression: on mold parting lines, sprue nubs and the transitions between glued halves. The 220 grit is medium, taking material noticeably faster than finishing abrasive, yet not leaving grooves as deep as a coarse tool. The designation disposable says that the abrasive layer wears away in time and the tool cannot be sharpened again.
Sand in one direction and without pressure; pressing will not make the tool faster, it will only clog its abrasive layer with plastic dust. For a smoother surface move on after this stage to a finer abrasive, or the traces will stay visible under gloss paint. Knock the dust out as you go and wipe the surface from time to time, so that you can tell how much material you still have to take off.
For anyone who builds from plastic and wants seams without steps. It will serve on resin as well, only work with regard to the fine dust and to ventilation. The small format is an advantage in places a large block cannot reach, that is inside cockpits, between ribs or along small projections you do not want to sand away with the rest. It will not entirely replace abrasive paper; the two tools rather complement each other.
