It consists of an ergonomic handle and an interchangeable blade. The package holds a universal 0.30 mm blade, which can be swapped as needed for another width sold separately. The blade is hard and sharp and works on plastic, ABS, PVC and resin.
Models have their panel lines molded in, but shallow - after a clear coat and especially after several coats of paint they almost disappear. With a scriber the lines are deepened so that they stay legible and can be brought out with a wash. After sanding, when a seam has been removed, the lines often vanish altogether; with a scriber they are restored so that the model does not look as if the detail had been sanded away. The tool also serves for engraving entirely new lines during modifications and conversions.
For modelers who want to restore or bring out panel lines and prepare a model for washes and weathering. Suitable accessories: engraving templates, masking tape and sanding sponges. For other line widths, spare blades of 0.15, 0.20 and 0.30 mm are available (and further, across the whole range, from 0.10 to 1.20 mm and shallow variants for shallow engraving).
The tool contains a sharp blade - work carefully and keep out of the reach of children.
