GT65A - a spare 0.30 mm blade for the Mr. Line Chisel GT-65

GT65A is a spare scriber blade 0.30 mm wide for the Gunze Mr. Line Chisel GT-65 scriber (Mr. Hobby / GSI Creos). The blade on its own is not a finished tool - without the GT-65 handle you have nothing to clamp it into. It serves for deepening, restoring and engraving panel lines in plastic, ABS, PVC and resin.

For which models

0.30 mm is the widest of the three, 0.15 / 0.20 / 0.30 mm. It suits larger scales (1:32, 1:35, 1:24), more prominent panels and coarser lines on large areas - big aircraft and tanks alike. On a small model such a line would be too coarse and would read as a trench.

How to choose the width

• 0.30 mm - large scales, prominent panels, large areas.
• 0.20 mm - the all-rounder, 1:48 and ordinary panel lines.
• 0.15 mm - fine lines, the small scales 1:72 and 1:144.
• Choose the width according to the scale: too coarse a line spoils a small model, too fine a one disappears on a large one.

Who it is for

For owners of the GT-65 scriber who want to engrave more prominent lines on larger models. Engraving is done by pulling toward you in several light strokes, guided along a template or tape; the burr is then removed with fine abrasive paper or a sponge.
